Hi,
I am trying to build an enterprise nrds installer.
We will likely end up having hundreds of XI servers and I want to build a single nrds (and nrpe) installer.
In the config file used by nrds.pl, there is both the XI URL parameter and the TOKEN.
I can have the user pass the XI hostname so I can build the URL field, but I would never expect them to know the token.
First off, what is this token used for? I imagine it's some kind of handshake between the agent and the XI server?
Is it unique to each XI server?
If so, any ideas how I could get the appropriate token remotely from the agent we are installing nrds on?
I would then be able to update our standard config file with the XI server url and the proper token.
Thanks,
Rick

Re: Token in nrds.cfg
The token it self can both be unique or not depending on what you feel is necessary, you set your token and can change it from Admin > Inbound Transfers. It is a handshake, as NRDS operates over HTTP, it is an extra packet by packet auth method that is used. Let us know if you have any further questions!

Re: Token in nrds.cfg
No problem, any other questions on nrds? Or are we good to lock this up?
