Use external apache server with Nagios

I am planning a Nagios installation and i would like to know if is possible to set as http server an external apache i already have.

in this case, what have i configure to?

This would not be possible. The Apache server needs to be able to read the Nagios files, and it can't do that if it is on another server. You could theoretically come up with a sort of file transfer-based solution but that is not something we would suggest or support, and the performance hits would be incredible.
