Can't delete services, dependent relations

Post by dLans »

Goodday,

We're running NagiosXI 2014R1.4 and we're having trouble deleting checks for our configured hosts. We regulary add new hosts/checks but we've never deleted any, so I can't say when this started or if we had the same thing before the XI2014 upgrade. Perhaps it is expected behaviour from Nagios. We want to delete the check that monitors a local harddisk, the disk has become irrelevant. However, when deleting the check I get this error:

Code: Select all

Database Relationships for service : nloossnd.denbraven.lan
Items labeled as: 'Dependent relationships' will prohibit deletion
Object ID: 1223 of table tbl_service:
Relation to Contactgroups, entry: denbraven-nederland-it
Relation to Hosts, entry: nloossnd.denbraven.lan
Relation to Servicetemplates, entry: xiwizard_windowsserver_nsclient_service
Even when removing the relations mentioned in the error I still get an error (had to try something):

Code: Select all

Database Relationships for service : nloossnd.denbraven.lan
Items labeled as: 'Dependent relationships' will prohibit deletion
Object ID: 1202 of table tbl_service:
Can anyone assist me in this matter? It has low priority for us as every check that is active is working just fine.

Kind regards,
Dennis Lans

Please try clearing your browser's cache, and also try to delete it with a completely different browser. I was able to reproduce this but it was due to caching. After I tried with Firefox instead of Chrome, or cleared my browser's cache completely, it worked fine.
