nagios > selinium question

Hi,

I have nagios > selinium working ok. I have some cases built in the IDE and they work.

Now I have an issue is that a test I need to do involves If / While statements (Random modal box appears).
Is it possible to create the tests within the webdriver rather than the IDE?
Is this a stupid question?
