nrpe dead put pid file exists:

Hello Everyone,

When i try to check the status of nrpe it shows "nrpe dead but pid file exists".
I have deleted the pid file in /var/run/nrpe/ and nrpe file in /var/lock/susbsys
Even after doing this, it shows the same message. Could anyone help me with this.

Are you checking it remotely or locally? Likewise, are you removing the PID remotely or locally? Please post the command you are using to check and the output.
