I have recently purchased the core pro VM and have been busy setting it up.
I see an upgrade message on the "home" page that Core 4.0.8 is available - is there an upgrade procedure to upgrading the VM, i really do not want to break everything just when it is getting stable.
I am also having issues with NSTI which seems to be at RC1, can i grab the latest stable version with git and just install it with the standard installer? so that everything is up to date before i start troubleshooting.
Any pointers or links welcome.

Yes you should be able to grab NSTI just fine that way. In the case of updating your core VM, you're going to want to grab the update from the links that you received when you purchased. If you don't have them anymore, or never received them, please email [email protected]. I'd recommend snapshotting the VM before the upgrade, that would be the safest way to proceed.

Re: updating nagios core VM
Thanks.. that was the bit i was missing... one snapshot later...
However, Core 4.0.8 does not seem to be in the update, but i only applied the process once, thinking that doing it twice could bring unforeseen mess-ups - i will set up a check on that file and watch for a file update (read the file) before i run it again.
NSTI promisingly ran through a bunch of stuff, but when it asked for my mysql password, which of course i have not ever set as this is a VM i backed out of the install - so i guess so far not a great success story I will work out what the default MySQL setup is and then try again... at the moment i have more interest in getting traps in the right place than sexy version numbers on the home page, but i guess that 4.0.8 might cure the frequent sudden crashes i am having with this VM - i will also have to read the notes on 4.0.8 and decide if i will press the obsess button on my home screen.
