What specifically are you looking to monitor? Connectivity? Disk space free? IO times?

Most connectivity from a user experience point of view...I have the disk space all figured out.

This is a problematic task as windows shares are provided on a per user basis. You would also need to create a script to log into the nsclient user and mount the share to check it, or run nsclient as the workstations normal user (NOT SUGGESTED FOR VARIOUS SECURITY REASONS).
Really, there is not a reliable to check the share visibility from the agent. If it was mounted somewhere in the filesystem, you could check it for a known file in the share.
But really, there are no good ways to do this.
