I have a general question and a specific question.
1. Is there a way to monitor clustering level in Nagios?
2. If 1 is yes, is there a way to monitor AWS cluster? I have a plugin which monitors the metrics very well, but would be nice to monitor failovers - like Redis failover, RDS failover etc.

It depends how you want to go about it. You could search the nagios exchange for plugins that check the health of a cluster for specific services. Or you could set up multiple ping or port checks to the different members of a cluster and then use service dependencies for alerting.
