Nagios XI 2014R1.5 - adding services to switches / routers ?

Post by vijilants »

Hi,

In the previous version ob Nagios X1 the method of adding services to switches and routers was performed by the log winded task of deleting previous configuration relating to the switch/router in /etc/mrtg/mrtg.cfg.

However I have noticed that after upgrading to Nagios XI 2014R1.5 the /etc/mrtg/mrtg.cfg no longer carries any switch / router configuration.

So my question is in Nagios XI 2014R1.5 how do you add services to switches and routers ? I take it the Original PDF file that was on the website explaining how this is done is no longer valid ?

Many Thanks

We moved all the MRTG configs into their own file per host for the sake of organization, so the old method of manually removing chunks of the mrtg config file is no longer required. You should just be able to run the wizard over again and it will add in the services, otherwise you can do it manually through the CCM as always.

Great !

Thank you....that will certainly be a major improvement as the previous method was a real pain !
