Monitoring Engine is not working frequently...

Hi Team,

Frequently the monitoring engine is not working while configuring the new monitoring setup for the servers.

We usually go to "XI System component status" and start the monitoring engine manually from from "status action".

Please can someone suggest what might be the problem and solution for the same.

What version of XI are you running?
What distro version/subversion are you running?

We are running 2012R1.2 NagiosXI version.
Nagios XI 2012R1.2 Copyright © 2008-2014 Nagios Enterprises, LLC.

We are facing this issue while configuring most of the services Continuously for different Hosts.

Do you have multiple users applying configuration? You could be seeing the process caught in a restart multiple times as the other apply configs are queued and processed. What specific portion of the "Monitoring Engine" is stopped?

Yes, Mulitiple users are applying the configuration.But sometimes same problem appering even when single user applying the configuration.

Not sure about the specific portin of monitoring engine has the problem.

But one thing observed, From Admin tab home page, We have "XI System component status" and one of the component is "Monitoring Engine" and the status is showing Monitoring is not running. and top right corner of the window we have "System OK:", the first tick mark showing as not working !.
So we usually starting that engine from admin page. I would like to know is the problem related to the performance of the Nagios server or something else ?

Many things can actually cause this behavior. *Most* of these issue were resolved in 2014. Is updating a possibility?

Great let us know if you are able to upgrade, that would be one of the best options in this case.
