Nagios as single tool to receive alert from 3rd party tool

Yes, but most likely not out of the box. As there are many different ways to pull off integration depending on the product, we would need to know a bit more about the product you are attempting to integrate. This is typically DIY, though we have had some clients pay for custom development as well.

From any tool if I have to collate alerts on Nagios. How do I do that ?

1. Well, what api do you wish to support/write? Email based? Shell based? SNMP?
2. How do you plan to get the data from the 3rd party tool?
3. And again, as most 3rd party tools use different mechanisms for integration, it is important (for our ability to help you) for us to know what you are trying integrate . . . .

You might want to look into custom notifications for starters. Here is an example of integrating with the Asterisk PBX:

If any third party tool send data using snmp protocol will that suffice to generate alert in Nagios based on that.


Well just thoght can I use here Nagios Fusion to get data from all monitoring tool.

e.g. Nagios/Zabbix/

Fusion is only meant to combine view for Nagios Core and Nagios XI. It will not work directly with third-party tools. However if those third-party tools can send SNMP traps, then you can set up an XI machine to receive them and then add that machine to Fusion.
