Updating OS/Kernel on a Nagios Server

Post by and1100 »

Hi,

I am planning on updating our Nagios server OS and kernel from CentOS 6.4, 2.6.32-358.2.1.el6.x86_64 to CentOS 6.6. Is there anything disruptive that I need to be concerned with when I perform the yum update, other than the reboot? Unfortunately, I have not done a kernel update on a Nagios server before and was worried I would break our Nagios after updating the kernel.

Thank you.

You should be fine but make sure that you do have a full backup/snapshot just in case.
