How to install vmware agent on esxi host

Post by jeffersjw »

Hi,

I am trying to setup the VMWare monitor in Nagios XI and cannot figure out how to setup the agent or which one to install. I get the following error on the services:

(No output on stdout) stderr: Can't locate Nagios/Plugin.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/local/lib64/perl5 /usr/local/share/perl5 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/lib64/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 .) at /usr/local/nagios/libexec/c

Any help much appreciated.

This document describes how to add the VMWare client on the Nagios XI system. Give it a go and post back it you have troubles.

An alternate plugin to try is box293_check_vmware, it is an offloaded VMware solution for Nagios.

box293_check_vmware can be downloaded here:

There is also a wizard for it:
