How do I restore from a Config Snapshot?

Post by uhiadmin »

Linux Distribution and version?
1. Cent OS 5.5 / 64 Bit
2. Manual Install
3. Gnome installed

To Nagios XI Tech Support Specialist:

How do I restore from a Config Snapshot? I have this file stored on our back up server, and I want to overwrite what has caused an error from a bad config. I took a snapshot from a good and working config with no error from a previous week. Please help.

This is the good file format that is working. Where do I go to restore from this file?

When a configuration error is detected in the "Apply Configuration", Nagios XI will automatically restore the configuration files to the last known working configuration. What you're probably needing to do at this point is make correction in the Database of the Core Config Manager, and then move forward from there. Take a look at this wiki entry on how to do that:

If you need help debugging the bad snapshot, send us the configuration snapshot tarball along with the text file and we can help you find the error.
