Services Service Templates and Notifications

I have created all my service checks for the various systems I am monitoring. For these specific service checks I only have the common settings defined. The check settings and alert settings are empty. I then have these service checks assigned to a specific template, Manage Template, where within the Service Template I have the check settings and alert settings defined. I have a couple service checks, CPU and Memory for our Windows servers, that I was asked to not have notifications sent for. This is where I am not clear on how to do. If I go to my CPU service check and define just the alert settings will 1) my check settings from the template still be used and 2) will the alert settings from the actual service check take priority or will the alert setting within the service template still be used?

You can disable notifications for the CPU and Memory services in question under the CCM.

"Local" settings (on a service level) will take precedence over the settings inherited from a template. For more info on the topic, please read the document below:
