Problem with Email Notification in Nagios Core

Hi all,

I'm new in Nagios Core. I successfully installed nagios core on my device and also change the email to my email account base on the installation process. Also I add host services and contacts but when I restart my nagios service I didn't receive any email notification from nagios.

please help. Thanks

Are you using an internal or external email service? By default, Nagios will use sendmail, which can get blocked by a lot of spam filters.

you're right the problem was on the spam filter. umm can I ask another question to you regarding creating custom plugin? because I want to create a plugin that checking if some service on my server are running or not like asterisk, mysqld, httpd, fail2ban and fop2. I want to have a result when I run the following command: service fail2ban status.
