Does Nagios XI support AES128 with SNMP V3 communication?

Post by edward.bosco »

All -

Was wondering what levels of AES V3 encryption Nagios supports for SNMP transmissions.

Have hardware that only supports AES 128; not sure what parameters to pass to make that viable, to be understood by Nagios XI.

Thanks much for any insights.

I believe that AES 128 is the default snmp v3 encryption method when using AES. AES 192/256 is the only encryption method that seems to have problems since it is not defined well in the standards. When you select AES in Nagios XI it is referring to AES 128
