Problems after unplanned power outage on nagios system

Post by vijilants »

System:
Nagios XI Version : 2014R2.7
2.6.32-358.14.1.el6.i686 i686
CentOS release 6.5 (Final)

Hi,

After a couple of unplanned power outages on our system, it appears to have been corrupted.

When the the system is restared, (the entire platform) the gui is covered in "SQL database error" messages and it looks like the processes take a long time to kick in as it complains of devices being down when in actual fact they are up.

This clears after about 10 minutes, but what I have noticed is that the GUI is now very slow to reacting to alarms. It sends out the notifications but when you look at the notifications screen, the notification does not appear there for at least 10 minutes after it has been sent.

Can someone please advise me on how to give this system a health check and get it running properly again ?

Many Thanks

Unplanned outages + SQL errors = Crashed database tables. You will likely need to run a repair:

Thank you.....I followed the steps successfully and there were no errors when I restarted mysqld.

Is it best that I also truncate the tables as per the last section ?

As long as you are up and running now, there should be no need to truncate.

Hi,

It fixed my SQL errors on the page, however, when notifications go out, the GUI is not updating.

Ive opened up an official support request on this one a as I need to get it fixed urgently.

Many Thanks

Is it all right to close this post and only work on the ticket for this?
