Have you ran any of the postgres wizards(under the configure menu) that we have built into Nagios XI? Inside of XI we have the following wizards:

Postgres Database:
Connection Status, Database Size, Table Sizes, Relation Sizes, Sequences.

Postgres Query:
Monitor a query of your choosing ran vs. the DB.

Postgres Server:
Connection Status, Backend Connections, WAL file count.

We also have a number of plugins on Nagios Exchange built for Postgres monitoring.

Hopefully this can help.
