NSCP is for Windows. What you're going to be wanting to look for is NRPE. Take a look at this:

In fact Nsclient is also available on Linux, but I have absolutely no experience with it.

I would also suggest the Nagios nrpe agent which is very stable. Never had any problem with it.
EDIT: Sorry apparently not for Red Hat 5 I see now..

Thanks Willem, I wasn't actually aware of that. I've probably seen it 50 times too. Sometimes it takes 51 times to register

What is your internet situation on the host?

we can't active the internet on this host (security issue).

Unfortunately we don't have an "offline" NRPE installer. You can try downloading the Linux agent (NRPE + Nagios plugins) on the different machine (with Internet access) and moving it over to your Redhat 5 server.
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ent.tar.gz
Untar the file, cd into the linux-nrpe-agent directory and run:
Code: Select all
touch installed.repos
touch installed.prereqs
Find a way to install the prerequisites manually on the Redhat 5 machine - autoconf, gcc, glibc, libmcrypt-devel, make, openssl-devel, sudo, sysstat, xinetd, and bc.
Run the fullinstall script:
Code: Select all
cd /tmp/linux-nrpe-agent
./fullinstall
This may or may not work. Again, we don't have a "offline" installer. This is a "workaround".
