I wanted to test Nagios vs Bigbrother (currently in use), and I'm hoping I can get some issues resolved
System: RHEL 5.7 Fresh install with all updates
Arch: 32bit
Install: Manual install in a VM using VirtualBox
Extras: Gnome is installed
Yum is having issues with rpmforge's metadata matching the checksum. This worries me as the systems we need to monitor are on an internal network that does not have access to the internet. If I can't get the install to work on a system that IS connected to the internet, should I just forget about using Nagios as a network monitoring solution? Also, the VMware image is not an option due to the security constraints of our network.
Rpmforge fails
Re: Rpmforge fails
We've had some phantom issues with 5.7 that we're not able to duplicate. Are you able to install the EPEL and RPMforge repos manually? If you can install those properly, then in the untarred nagiosxi install directory, do:
touch intalled.yum
./fullinstall
That should get around the attempt to install the repos.
touch intalled.yum
./fullinstall
That should get around the attempt to install the repos.
