We are running NagiosXI 5.2.2
We are adding trap functionality to our XI deployment, and we have configured the system to receive traps successfully. We installed the snmptrapd and snmptt daemons, imported the MIBS, and in the service status we can see the SNMP trap data correctly when the network asset generates a trap. However, the system does not take that trap and then send out an email alert. How can we make this happen please?
configuring received SNMP trap to notify through email
Re: configuring received SNMP trap to notify through email
Just to make sure we're on the same page, the trap is working properly EXCEPT the email notification isn't going out?

Re: configuring received SNMP trap to notify through email
Yes, this is correct. I can see the trap under passive check info.
Re: configuring received SNMP trap to notify through email
This could be a few different things.
- Did you setup critical / warning alert thresholds, and configure notifications for the service?
- Can you navigate to the service status detail page of one of these services, and click the Advanced tab. What do you see next to notifications in the State column?
- Can you post the host / service definition of one of these checks for us to take a look at?
