Nagios Install on Cent OS Vs RHEL

Post by Sundar »

We need to advise our client on Nagios XI installation either on Cent OS or RHEL

We would like to know the advantages/disadvantages on choosing anyone of these 2 Linux distros, apart from the fact Cent OS would be cheaper.

Please advise. We need this information asap please.

Nagios does not have an "official" stance on RHEL vs CentOs - either OS is fine. Just be sure they are a clean, minimal install - that is very important. Below is a link to the manual install instructions. Although the doc says RHEL 5 is supported, I would stay away from that version and stick with either RHEL 6 or 7.

Certainly let us know if there is any more info we can provide.
