I tried the "make dox" and it only generate the nagios core source code documentation

May I know what is the reason Nagios Core manual source is not on github ?

How can I generate a PDF file from the html src tree ?
Looks the html files need to installed into a web server directory and have php module enabled to see them.

If I understand correctly, you're looking to convert the html documentation files to pdf?

There is not a way within Nagios Core to do this, you'll have to use a 3rd party utility for converting html -->pdf.

I am looking a way to read the nagios core 4 doc without out setting up a web server.

Also the doc in html format is the doc source, right ?
ie if one want to update the doc for nagios core 4, one need to familiar with html language.

The Core docs can be found online here: https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... n/toc.html

But if you are looking to edit that, you will need to understand HTML and save the pages to your local machine to edit them.
