Need to clarify this until tonight 11pm cet when the patch window starts, i want to disable all notification on the nagios server (XI 5.2.3) for specific hostgroups between a timeframe.
Is it enough to setup an "Schedule downtime for all hosts in this hostgroup" or do i have to set "Schedule downtime for all notification for all hosts in this hostgroup" ?
What is included in "Schedule downtime for all hosts in this hostgroup" , does it disable all notifications on the hosts in the hostgroup as well?

Re: Schedule downtime for this hostgroup
Can you please clarify on this part? -
"Schedule downtime for all notification for all hosts in this hostgroup"
Schedule downtime for all hosts in this hostgroup will disable notifications from sending for all hosts that exist in that specific host group. You may need to do the same for services in this hostgroup as well depending on how your environment is configured. What is included in "Schedule downtime for all hosts in this hostgroup" , does it disable all notifications on the hosts in the hostgroup as well?

Re: Schedule downtime for this hostgroup
Do i have to set both schedules:
"Schedule downtime for all notification for all hosts in this hostgroup" and
"Schedule downtime for all hosts in this hostgroup"
to be sure that no notifications are are triggered and email are delivery to service desk?
"What is included in "Schedule downtime for all hosts in this hostgroup" , does it disable all notifications on the hosts in the hostgroup as well?"
Just wanna know like earlier, does this choice cover my needs like above, all services notifications been disable from hosts in the group.
But your reply
"Schedule downtime for all hosts in this hostgroup will disable notifications from sending for all hosts that exist in that specific host group." answered my questions and no notifications will be send from the hosts.
Another question that come up now after i setup the schedules, how can i see my schedule task i have add the host group?

Re: Schedule downtime for this hostgroup
You can view a listing of all scheduled downtimes from the Home page of the UI --> click the Downtime button, lower left corner, under 'System'...how can i see my schedule task i have add the host group
Yes, if you've scheduled downtime for all hosts in a host group, then Nagios will send zero notifications during the specified time. However, as rkennedy mentioned, you may need to do the same for services in this hostgroup as well, depending on how your environment is configured. If you're unsure and want to be safe, then schedule downtime for both 'all hosts" and 'all services' in the given hostgroup.
