Acessing Notes

What permissions does a user need to be able to add/update the Notes tab in the Host/Status Details page.
As an admin I can update entries OK - but as a user I can only view them. Security Settings are : "User + Can access advanced features" .
I tried adding "Can control all objects" but that made no difference

I tested here to find that "Can (re)configure hosts and services:" must be enabled in order for 'User' to write notes.

Page 3 of this doc gives the run-down of rights, but there is no mention of notes. I assume this omission is because Object Notes is an add-on/component.

Thanks for following up.
Any chance of getting the the Notes component updated so that Users with "Access advanced features" can add info?
I really don't want to give Reconfigure access to normal users.

I submitted a feature request for this:
NEW TASK ID 8235 created - Nagios XI Feature Request: Extend permissions for Object Notes component in XI

I agree, having the permissions set to almost wide-open seems a bit too broad just so someone can write a note, hopefully this change will be made soon.
Is there anything else we can assist with, or shall we go ahead and lock this thread?

Just to be clear, a feature request does not necessarily mean this will be in the next release. It is totally up to the developers and depends on what other fixes/features they're cooking up.
