Integrating SELENIUM with NAGIOS XI

Post by dlukinski »

Hello XI Support

Is there more "official NAGIOS materials" on integrating Selenium with XI, including examples and how-to?

Thank you,
Dimitri

OK, please advice why Fedora 17 (very outdated, crashes in my VMWARE farm)

Any other platform for running Selenium NAGIOS recommends?
- CentOS 6.7 desktop?

We are trying to get web-portal monitoring operational (where NAGIOS checks or WebInject are no helping us)
- anyone we could ask about "tried and true" way of running Selenium integrated with Nagios XI?

Your documentation is for integrating Selenium RC (1), which is deprecated and no longer actively supported
What about Selenium 2 (as we require IE 11 support) - can it be integrated with Nagios?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Selenium RC can run on Windows, passing commands to IE11, which is more desirable in our case. How to integrate that with Nagios XI?

Unfortunately at this time our documentation is only going to cover the operating systems and versions that are listed within. I can't say whether or not a newer version of Selenium would work as a drop-in replacement, since this is not something we have tested. Fortunately, we just had some new people join the team so I will task one of them with looking into newer Selenium versions and getting a preliminary set of instructions written. I can't say how long this might take, but I'll set this in motion.

By all means if you come up with anything that works please let us know and we can incorporate that into our documentation.

Thank you

We will be waiting and very interested (Selenium-2, CentOS and Windows IDE integration support over NRPE)
Going to try making things work with RC (whatever would work with Firefox)

We'll be working on updating the doc over the next few weeks, and there has already been some progress (moving from Fedora to CentOS, and updating versions). Keep an eye on the doc in the coming days.

Hoping to see documentation re-done for CentOS soon. In any case Fedora 17 represents Rehdat 5.x kernel (6 started from 19). So this is VERY old and really not usable these days

I can confirm that the documentation is being written for CentOS 7.

Thank you for the document (is there a windows client version exists?)

We've successfully configured TEST XI & SELENIUM integration (works)

question about check_selenium output: Processes completed after 19.58 of page loading. (what is 19.58? - unlikely seconds in this case)
