CHECK_NRPE: Socket timeout after 10 seconds.

Hi Team,

I have a Nagios core setup in my environment for monitoring Windows, Linux servers etc.

Recently i have configured a physical and swap memory monitoring using the plugin ./check_nrpe. But if i run the command i'm getting the error 'CHECK_NRPE: Socket timeout after 10 seconds.'

When i tried executing the plugin without the command and only with IP address as below also giving the same error.

[root@serverlibexec]# ./check_nrpe -H xx.xx.xx.xx
CHECK_NRPE: Socket timeout after 10 seconds.

Then i tried increasing the timeout value to maximum of 1000 using -t option which throws the same error

Kindly help me in resolving the same.

What agent are you running on the remote servers?

Have you followed the NRPE Troubleshooting Guide?

I'm running Nsclient on the remote server. Also i have tried the troubleshooting methods given in the Nagios documents as well. No luck What else could be the reason?

Can you show us what steps you followed in the guide, What commands did you type and what output did they produce?
