Hi nagios team,
I have a question about Host escalation and service escalation.
In both of them you have hostgroups and servicegroups options that you can choose,However, without choosing any hosts or services that escalation means nothing,so what is the purpose of selecting hostgroup or servicegroup when without hosts or services that escalations means nothing?
cheers

Host Esclation management
Re: Host Esclation management
With "Host Escalations", you can either select hosts (to be escalated) or hostgroups. When you select a hostgroup, all hosts, members of the hostgroup will be escalated.
With "Service Escalations", you will need to have at least one service selected in order to have a valid config. Services can be added to hosts or hostgroups, that's why you have both options available. I hope this makes sense.
