escalation notification method

Hi there,

I was looking to set up Nagios XI service and host escalations so that for the first threshold, Nagios would send out emails to the contacts/contact groups. Then for the second threshold of escalation, have Nagios send out sms notifications to the specified contacts/contact groups. Is there any way to choose which method of notifications that you would like Nagios to send? This is assuming that the contact(s) has both email and sms notifications enabled under their account settings.

So far, I have not been able to find a way to do this, and I'm not even sure if it is possible.

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think this is possible. Maybe you can setup two different contacts for the same person, for example "joe-email" & "joe-sms" and set notifications accordingly.
