Re-send open Problems / Report

Post by jacek »

Hi,
our enivroment is configured to not re-send notifications at all, so 0 minutes in the re-send field of wizards.
It's what has been agreed, and is ok.

But now I would like to create a "reminder" which would do one of the following things:
  • Generate and send out a report with all open problems (so Warning, Critical, Unknown state of Hosts and Services)
The report should be user based, so each user would get all the hosts/services he is monitoring (monitoring contact based?).
  • or re-send notifications for all open problems.
This shall be sent out on a regular, weekly basis.
The Notifications Legacy Report looks kinda what I would like, but there are no selectable periods and the Notification detail "custom" level I have no idea where to check. Is there a way to maually build a report?

I don't know which solution would be better, so it would be the best if I could test both, and no, setting an re-send on each host/service for 10080 minutes (1 week) is not a good idea ;-)

Probably the closest you would get without having notifications re-send would be to trial or purchase the Enterprise Edition features and use the Scheduled Reports functionality, and have an Availability or Executive Summary report go out weekly. Otherwise you can schedule pages as well, so you could play around with scheduling a custom dashboard.

Hi, we have the Enterprise edition of Nagios XI, so that's not the problem.
The "All Service Problems" page would do the trick for me, but how can I schedule it to be sent to users weekly?

From the "All Service Problems" page, you'll want to use the upper-right menu to select the "Schedule Page" option.

This document describes the process for scheduling reports in general (different for your specific use case):
