Nagios and Offset value in host check

Hi All,
I am running Nagios for past 5 years with all good efforts. New codes / plugins developed in response to Ops demand. I have configured check_ping for multiple hosts through hostgroup_name owing to a comfort in configuration. But when this is run, it forks all in one time, exerting load on machine which sometimes yields in high CPU / uptime outputs. I have recently configured smokeping and one of its interesting point is its offset value to run the service at random time.
My question: is there any option of offset value in check_ping or check_icmp in order to execute the multiple ping process at random intervals.
Thanks in advance
