mknowledgebase question: migrating perfdata.

Post by benhank »

in the following excellent post:

Code: Select all

https://support.nagios.com/kb/article.php?id=166
it shows how to migrate from a 32 bit system to a 64.
but I wanna know how can I migrate from a 64 bit machine to 64? Our perfdata is huge over 64gb, and I was wondering if there is a better way to put them on my backup server.
If I try to rsync em or tar em up, the files change as they are being copied or tarred and I think I end up missing stuff.

If the source and the destination server are both 64 bits and that they have the same version if Nagios XI, you can follow the backup and restore procedure in the link below and that should migrate everything for you.
