low or high voltage warnings?

I have two APC's, circuit is 120V 30A. From time to time my monitoring warns me that the voltage is either to high or to low. That said, not sure what is really considered to high or two low. I have it set to warn at 114V and also 126V. Are those low and high warning points? No clue. All I know is it's setting off alarms and not sure if it's electrician time. Note I'd call the electrician but the guy just had a death in the family so finding it inappropriate to ask him these kinds of questions about his recent wiring installation at this time. Any thoughts assuming I should be asking this kind of electrical question here?

This really isn't the place to be seeking electrical advice, especially considering a malfunctioning UPS could cause a fire. From personal experience, ~5% tolerance in either direction is acceptable for voltage, which seems to be the values you have. However I am not an electrician and you need to consult with them on these matters.

On a more general note, this forum is for assistance with configuring Nagios and the related products/projects. What the specific values should be set to in your organization is your decision, and not something we can help with.

Think outside the box. Nagios is a tool for monitoring "stuff". If you have an option to monitor input/output voltage then that becomes in scope for the forum and chances are there may be others here with background/experience setting those items.

Actually it does not. Due to the way plugins work, literally anything can be monitored if you can write a script to do so. If someone writes a script to monitor a bee hive then we can certainly help them set up a check to run it, but it does not mean we should be the ones giving advice on the proper weight and temperature of the hive.

Similarly, if you need assistance setting up the check for voltage we can help, but you need to consult with either the manual for your device, or a licensed electrician to determine what constitutes a safe voltage.
