What operating system is Nagios installed on?

Did you follow any specific guide to get it up and running? If so can you post a link to it please.

Nagios is installed on ubuntu 14.04. I have followed following link:

It looks like you have another application on port 80. What is the output of netstat -anp | grep 80?

It may be worth installing Core on it's own Ubuntu machine, and following our official instructions which are for the newest version of Core. https://support.nagios.com/kb/article.php?id=97

As recommended by @rkennedy, Nagios Core really should live on it's own clean, minimal machine. There's an awful lot of considerations for just the Apache configuration when Nagios attempts to co-exist with other applications installed on the server. At that point, it's less about troubleshooting Nagios Core and more about troubleshooting the other applications.
