Problem in "Manage Components" installation failed

Post by redesgtt »

In our migration Nagios Core to Nagios XI Enterprise, I tryed to install in Nagios XI our component for view, edit and create graph template called "drraw" that we use in Nagios Core.

(Is a simple component, but is perfect for us, you can have dashboards about some graphs:

I don't find still other similar component. I take advantage for ask if you know similar component, thanks.)

I downloaded the official file *.tar.gz. When I go to Admin-->System Extensions-->Manage Components and try to "Upload and Install", is shown:

I thought this was caused because "drraw" is not included in Nagios exchange official directory:
https://exchange.nagios.org/directory/A ... d-Trending

So I tryed to find other Component to get the similar things. I see "nagiosgraph" had good reviews, and proceed to upload and instal the *.tar.gz file seeing the same problem:

"Component installation failed. Uploaded zip file is not a component."

I think there is a problem with our Manage Component site. I would like help with this.

I downloaded the official file *.tar.gz.
Could you please show us the link of the component you're trying to import into XI? I don't think you're using one that is built specifically for this use case.

This is a core plugin, and not intended to use with XI. Graphing is already build into XI. I thought you were attempting to use a drraw component?

Yes, I've been trying to find an external graphing component for Nagios XI since some weeks ago . I tried with "drraw", but Nagios XI show me that error message, so I tried with "nagiosgraph" believing this could be installed. But you say me is only for Nagios Core.

The problem with Graphing in Nagios XI is that not let you to delimit "Graph Timeframe" customized. Only shows: "4 Hour", "24 Hour"... :

But in our Nagios Core, with "drraw", we can delimit timeframe as we want, even minutes:

What's more, in drraw we can define a "dashboard graphs view" as we want, to define options we want, like what graphs add in, columns... :

Furthermore, in Nagios Core we put the url create by "drraw" in "action_url" option in hosts.cfg def, so we have a button for go directly to all graphs in dashboard for that host:

We need to find a similiar component for Nagios XI, or else install drraw in Nagios XI, so we could migrate 3000 graph from Nagios core :)

I am sorry for my english level.

You might be able to still integrate Drraw into the XI machine since it still runs Core under the hood, but it's a bit out of the scope for what we can support.

As for the Actions URL, see this document which should do the same thing as you're used to in Core - https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios-XI.pdf
