Performance graphs

Good morning,
I imported my NagiosXI config to a new server. Also restored performance graph configs. I am not seeing any performance graphs. I've added a new host with a few services, but no graphs. I used to see an icon next to a service to view historical graph data. Any help on where to start troubleshooting would be great. Thank you!

On the new host / services checks, can you open them up in the Details menu and go to the Advanced Tab and see if there is performance data in the Performance Data field?
Then, can you run the following commands as root and post the output?

ls /usr/local/nagios/var/spool/xidpe | wc -l
ls /usr/local/nagios/var/spool/perfdata | wc -l
ls /usr/local/nagios/var/spool/checkresults | wc -l
ps -ef --cols=300
tail -50 /usr/local/nagios/var/perfdata.log

The missing perfdata.log file isn't good.
Can you post the following files?

Also, run the following and post the output?

It looks like the performance graphs haven't been working for a while and the size of the old data is quite large so it will have to be deleted.
To do that, login as root to the XI server and run the following.

> /usr/local/nagios/var/host-perfdata
> /usr/local/nagios/var/service-perfdata
Next, lets restart the daemons that process that data.
Code: Select all
service crond stop
service npcd stop
service nagios stop
service crond start
service npcd start
service nagios start
If all goes well, the graphs should start to populate after 15 minutes.
If not, can you email in this file

/usr/local/nagios/etc/commands.cfg
And, run this and post the output.

It looks like at one time, the system had a ran disk setup on it at one time and some of the settings, not all, were reverted back and that is causing the issue.
You may want to look at this document for the instructions on setting up a ramdisk and update the missing information and see if that fixes the issue for you.

That sounds about right - we had a RAM disk before. I don't plan on using the RAM disk again, now that we're 64 bit, it is running great.
