Monitoring Firewall setup

Post by sth_bytelab »

Hi
We have just bought a new firewall and are in the middle of making all the policies.
I would like to check all these policies use NagiosXI.
Do you guys have any suggestions about how to do this?
I have thought about checking the TCP-connections on every hosts, but is there a smart or better way?

Thanks!

If your firewall allows for stateful connections, just allow all outbound from the nagios XI server and only established inbound. Otherwise, installation requires (http, https, ftp, and ssh):
port 21
port 22
port 80
port 443

For deployment an monitoring, the necessary ports all depend on which agents and check you are running . . .
