Acknowledged and Disabled notifications

Post by emartine »

Over time folks have disabled notifications instead of acknlowledging items when an issue has occurred on a server or service. Some of the services are ok now but notifications are still disabled. Is there a way to enable all of them in bulk?

I tried using the mass modification tool and it doesn't seem to work.

What version of XI are you using? You can grab it from the bottom left hand side of the web interface.

Are they disabling notifications through the CCM or through the "Disable notifications" link on the service details page?

It was through "Disable notifications" link on the services detail page and they would do it for all services and host. I am not sure that it was the best approach but I just created a group in nagios and added all hosts to it and them enabled all notifications and services from the group. Was there a better way?

No, that's about the only way you can do it since those are runtime settings (not CCM related) and not related to changing the backend config.
