Cannot add new host on Nagios

Post by chillipepper »

Setting up a new nagios Xi environment, SNMP and WMI polling works fine but as soon as i click finish and the device is being added to the DB the verification process never ends and the device is never added to nagios. Even repaired the DB but still no luck

Can you post your install.log here on the thread?

Also, can you PM me your Profile? You can download it by going to Admin > System Config > System Profile and click the Download Profile (not Show Profile) button in the top right corner. If for whatever reason you cannot download the profile, please put the output of Show Profile in the thread (that will at least get us some info).

After you PM the profile, please update this thread (you can just wait until after you send the PM to post your install.log). Updating this thread is the only way for it to show back up on our dashboard.

UPDATE: Profile received and shared with techs.

Please validate you have performed the 3 steps listed on page 3 here:

https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... s%20XI.pdf

You will at least need to change the $cfg['use_https'] setting in your /usr/local/nagiosxi/html/config.inc.php but also validate the CCM settings as well under Configure > Core Config Manager > CCM Admin > Settings > Paths tab.

Thank you

In addition to what @ssax said...

Is that like a more of the install.log or something? The log should start with
Nagios XI Installation Log
and end with
Install complete!
.

Also, when you say you are setting up a new environment, is this a clean install or upgrade? I'd have assumed a clean install, but the install.log makes me wonder if I should be looking at upgrade.log.

I'd be great to see the new install.log so we can see what exactly is failing within the D-* script.

Also the screenshot you sent in the first post, is that from Cent 6 or Cent 7? I was looking for the profile from whatever was having the issue...or is it that they were both failing and now only Cent 7 is failing?
