Mass change of Free variable definitions

Hello,

My question is there a way to mass edit the free variable definitions on service checks. We are trying to apply specific teams for each host and then have them trickle down into each other service checks for the respective box. Wanted to ask some of the masters on here for help!

I believe templates will allow you to pass down custom variables which would allow exactly what you're after. Have you played around with this idea yet?

Just checking in since we have not heard from you in a while. Did @rkennedy's post clear things up or has the issue otherwise been resolved?
