Clear Text Passwords in config files

Noticed that a number of system passwords are in clear text in the Nagios Configuration files. Would NagiosXI support a method to encrypt those files or obfuscate them in any method?

It's something that's in consideration for a future version of the product.

You could define your credentials as user macros and at least narrow down the places where credentials exist to a single file rather than several. More info:
