Dear Expert
Previously we have reported but till no action.
after adding user via Admin , Manage Users, Add New User => NAGIOS should not restart
Time to time we have to add users via ADMIN , MANAGE USERS and every time we do, Nagios get restart the services in the background.
You have given option in CONFIGURE RENAME Tool that ("Do not apply config at the end of the wizard", the same way, please give this option in ADMIN, Manage Users, Add New User with "Do not apply config at the end of the wizard"
FYI, we will add all the users , will create Contact Group and then will add the services to new Contact Group, after all these steps, we will apply the CONFIG
Regards

Re: after adding user Admin Manage Users, NAG should not res
You should be able to uncheck the "Create as monitoring contact" option to prevent Nagios from needing to restart:
Does this work for your use case? Keeping in mind this will create the user with notifications disabled.

Dear mcapra
When the NagiosXI was new to us, after many trial and error, we found Notification (Email) is going if we check "Create as Monitoring Contact". However in this version you have added another field "Enable Notifications:". Can you confirm the same as we do not want again same trial and error.
There is no help on this, can you explain more on each option and appreciate if you upload new Video having all the feature explained in detail. Better if there context help (as a text document) per feature , per option.

This documentation describes the difference between "users" and "contacts", which is really the meat of this issue:
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ntacts.pdf
Essentially, a "user" is something you login as via the GUI. A "contact" is a Nagios Core object that is responsible for determining who receives notifications about what hosts/services. When you create a "user", you can also create a "contact" at the same time.

Dear mcapra
As per your advice, when I unchecked "Create as Monitoring Contact:" immediately "Enable Notifications:" goes disabled mode. It means it will not enable notification.
By default , Nagios should not get restart, users (customers) are smart enough, they know when they have to Apply Configuration.
Just do that whenever any changes take place put red asterisk *Apply Configuration (Nagios normal behavior) which help user as a reminder to apply config

The XI 6.0.0 roadmap (https://www.nagios.com/roadmaps/) has the following:
Unfortunately, I can't give you a release date other than the Q1 2018 that is on the link before.
I don't know yet what it will look like, but I definitely think there will be improvements for contacts.Better usability for new users including better CCM integration with the rest of the XI GUI

Dear Expert
Future NagioXI 6 => •New performance graphing to replace RRDs
FYI, we have done very good in-house script to fetch values from RRD, its alarming that all those script will not work, we have to redo all our hard work, so new performance graph should be better in every aspect of RRD, otherwise
When you are doing major change in CCM, please consider below request (we impatiently to see it there)
Need extra fields in Host and Services. (you do not have to do any calculation on these extra fields, just add and under Host/Service).
FYI, the NagiosXI will be small database for our links and will solve many problem.
Already exist Display_Name in Host and Service, you can say its blessing for us and the same way we want two more fields in Host and Services.
If there is option to add number of fields as we wish during installation (upgrade) then it will be great great feature.

Re: after adding user Admin Manage Users, NAG should not res
I'm a bit confused why you are posting some of this here instead of on the thread where you link. I do wonder if https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios-XI.pdf will be of use though. That other thread is a bit old, but if you want to add in that what exactly you want now, I can put in a feature request. Is all you want literally just two blank fields where you can put whatever?
As to the RRDs, I suspect that will still be an option, just not the default. Would you like me to get some clarity on that?

Sorry for confusion
Also, yes, please give some clarification about RRD.

you are absolutely correct , we want two additional fields in Hosts and Services (in new CCM), 64 bytes length, we will put whatever we want (same as Display_Name), really appreciate to put new feature request. Is all you want literally just two blank fields where you can put whatever?

RRDs will probably not be an option.
Is there a reason the free var fields don't work for you instead of adding more fields?
This probably needs to be split into two threads at this point as their are two distinct issues.
