My Nagios XI server (from browser) performing very slow
Re: My Nagios XI server (from browser) performing very slow
Can you provide more information on the environment you are monitoring? Specifically:
- Number of hosts and services you are monitoring
- Average frequency of checks (every minute, every 5, 15, etc.)
- Approximately how many hosts and services are in a non-OK state
- Type of checks performed (network/SNMP, VMWare, etc.)

Number of hosts and services you are monitoring - 1475 hosts and 4724 services
Average frequency of checks (every minute, every 5, 15, etc.) - every 5 min
Approximately how many hosts and services are in a non-OK state - 32 hosts and 143 services
Type of checks performed (network/SNMP, VMWare, etc.) - network/SNMP, VMWare, Windows, Linux

Re: My Nagios XI server (from browser) performing very slow
Your number of Cores is a bit on the low side. We suggest 4 Cores for 3000 hosts+services and you are at about twice that. You might want to take a look at our performance document: https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios-XI.pdf
If some things don't need to be checked every 5 minutes, you could increase those and that would help. Also, are the non-OK checks getting acknowledged? Acknowledging them would help some.
So that I can see if there is something wrong with the server, can you PM me your Profile? You can download it by going to Admin > System Config > System Profile and click the ***Download Profile*** button towards the top. If for whatever reason you *cannot* download the profile, please put the output of View System Info (5.3.4+, Show Profile if older) in the thread (that will at least get us some info). This will give us access to many of the logs we would otherwise ask for individually. If security is a concern, you can unzip the profile take out what you like, and then zip it up again. We may end up needing something you remove, but we can ask for that specifically.
After you PM the profile, please update this thread. Updating this thread is the only way for it to show back up on our dashboard.

Thanks for your valuable reply.
Should I change only core? or RAM also need to increase? Because, currently we are using 6 cores, 8GB RAM and 16GB Swap space.
We are planning to increase core to 8. Is it RAM size enough? or Should I increase?. Because, If I gives 8 cores to my Nagios server, then it will be 1GB for 1 core structure. Is there any Impact..? Please guide..

You seem to have plenty of RAM. It is true that you are below our recommendation, but since it does not appear to be a bottleneck, I don't see any reason to increase it. Increasing it is not going to hurt anything...unless you are over-committing your VM software or have some sort of hardware incompatibility.

It sounds like this issue has been resolved. Is it okay if we lock this thread? Thanks for choosing the Nagios forums!
