Scaling NA for 600 Sources

Post by rcaparros »

We are deploying close to 600 devices and currently we are only at 103 deployed sources but NA server CPU utilization is already @ 60%.

Current setup (VMware):
12 GB Mem
250 HDD
4 CPU cores

Should we deploy multiple NA servers? Is there any application to manage multiple NA servers like Fusion?

TIA,
Ray

The biggest CPU usage on a NNA server is if you are running a lot of reports and queries. Those could take 100% of a CPU utilization until it is finishes.
Also, if you have any views setup, those take some CPU cycles to run as well.
I suggest doubling the number of CPU's allocated to the current system and setup a second system as well.
FYI, there is not an application like Fusion for NNA.

Thanks for the update! Is there any maximum number of sources per NA server?

The maximum number of sources is determined by the speed of the server so there is not a hard number of how many sources a server can utilize.
