Update page showing "Update in progress..." without ending

Hello,
Previously I had not executed any update from the GUI web management and today I noticed on the Home page:

Important Tasks:    A new Nagios XI update is available.

After clicking on it I got redirected to: .../nagiosxi/admin/?xiwindow=updates.php

And clicking on the latest XI version the below message appeared:

 Update in progress. Please wait. Update may take a few minutes. 

but it went on for a very long time, so I decided to stop nagios services, reboot, and again the same page shows the same message.

Then I decided to execute dhe update to the latest XI version 5.4.11 (from 5.4.10) according to the offline mode manual:

The update finished successfully but again I get the same message and the throbber.gif rotating:

Please can you tell how to stop the GUI update process?

Hello, @enid. It's a known bug with the web interface updates that should be fixed in the future release of XI. Usually, you can break out of that update page by clicking on the home menu button. Let me know if it still redirects you to the update page.

Now the issue seems to have gone away. I was using proxy configuration which seems to block different urls which seem to be used by nagios update and yesterday I unchecked/checked the proxy confuig. Although I went to home page and stop/started services, even rebooted the server the update page showed still Update in progress...
Today the update page shows the correct information:

Installed Version:	5.4.11
Last Update Check:	03/11/2017 09:31:05

there is a SQL query you can run which clears this, and it should be posted somewhere on these forums. unfortunately, i wasn't able to find it at the tip of my fingers right now.

look around, or perhaps the Nagios folks here have it handy.

@enid, Have you initially tried to restart apache with service httpd restart from the command line?

No, I didn't restart apache service, but as I said above I did a reboot of the server and again when going to the update page the message was the same.
I left it the whole night and on the morning the message "Update in progress...." was not showing, maybe some timeout settings?

@enid, Very likely, I already talked about this issue with our developers and hopefully, this will be patched in the upcoming 5.5 release.
