email notification apply to service groups?

Hi,

I defined email settings and enabled notifications alerts.

I can reconfigure hundreds of my defined services to define the notification alert settings, but is there a way I can define the email notification setting once in a service group and then make it effectively apply to all services that are member of that group?

this would save me ton of time, but I don't see where I can do this if possible.

thanks,
ik

Take a look at XI Home --> Admin --> under "Users" click --> Notification Management

It's available if you have an enterprise edition of Nagios XI or a trial.

This allows you to deploy various notification settings to contacts or contact groups.

@kyang,

I see the default template, but I'm not sure what to do from there.

As an example I have a service group "Web Services" and contact group "Web Operations Group" which has number of contacts.

How do I make it so that all services that are part of "Web Services" sends out the notifications to the members of "Web Operations Group"?

Do I create a new template by modifying the Default notification template?

thanks,
ik

Hi @ikekim,

Please go to Configure >> Core Config Manager >> Bulk Modifications Tool

2.Click Add Contact Group(s)
Bulkmodification.PNG
3.Select a contact group under Contact Groups >> Services using Service Groups
Bulkmod_contactgrp.PNG
4. Assign Contact Group to Service Group
Assign_contact_group.PNG

In your use case Service group(Web Services) and Contact Group(Web Operations Group)

Lastly, save changes and Apply Configuration.

Apply those changes and let me know if that solves your issue.
