Hello Nagios support forums
We have setup Nagios and it is now running on it's own virtual machine using CentOS ver 6.
Now as we want to configure Nagios to monitor several virtual Windows server machines the
documentation specifies that in order to do that you will need to modify the
nagios main configuration file. I have been inside the file looking the line
that looks like this:
#cfg_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/objects/windows.cfg
to remove the "#" line but it is no where to be found in my configuration
file. Is it because I have the wrong version of this configuration file or
do I simply just need to add this line to the configuration file?
Unable to find this row in the main configuration file

Re: Unable to find this row in the main configuration file
Is this Nagios XI or just Nagios Core?
In XI there is no need to do this.
In XI there is no need to do this.

Ok then I know we are using Nagios XI, So then I just need to install NSClient++ on the machines we wish to monitor and after that I should be able to find them in the webapplication on the server?

Ok I see then we are using Nagios XI trail version currently to test it out before we make a decision to buy it. So then to monitor more virtual machines we just need to install NSClient++ on the machines we wish to monitor and then find them with the webapplication of Nagios?

Correct, we have documentation on installing NSClient++ here
http://library.nagios.com/library/produ ... dows-agent
Additionally, our developers have put together a way for mass deployment if you have many machines. You can see that here
