check_init_service error

Hello,
I'm new to Nagios and I'm trying out Nagios XI demo.
I setup a simple Ubuntu 16.04 server to monitor and I installed the linux nrpe agent using the installer given by the Nagios XI GUI.
The install of the nrpe agent worked fine and I'm able to monitor cpu/processes/and load.
However, I'm not able to do a service check.
I get the following error message:
ERROR: No service name specified on command line

one of the services that I'm checking is apache2
the command used is
check_nrpe!check_init_service!-a 'apache2'

What am I missing?

I re-installed the nrpe agent and check_init_service started working
