Re: NAGIOs on Linux
Nagios XI currently support centOS and RHEL 5.x and above.
Our development team is working to create stable releases for other varieties as we speak, but there is no specific timeline.
Additionally, it should be noted that Nagios Enterprises highly recommends and will only support installing Nagios XI on a newly installed, "clean" system. Attempting to install Nagios XI on a pre-existing system with other applications already installed can cause the Nagios XI installation process to fail, critical system components and settings (e.g. database servers) to be modified in a way that negatively affects other applications, and previously installed applications to be automatically upgraded or removed. While installing XI on a system with other applications is possible, it is not recommended due to the possible interactions and complexity of multiple components that are required for Nagios XI to function. If you choose to ignore these warnings, you do so at your own risk.

Re: NAGIOs on Linux
Can you elaborate on what you mean by "full features"? Nagios XI is a lot more feature rich than Nagios Core. I'm not quite sure what you're asking.

Re: NAGIOs on Linux
The easiest way to get started with Nagios is to try our pre-installed virtual machine of Nagios XI, which can be downloaded at the link below, and runs on VMware Player or ESX. Yes, Nagios Core is free, but Nagios XI is MUCH more user-friendly, and has a lot more features.

I installed magioxi using vmware player
However I do not see an IP when I do ifconfig -a
Do I have to manually assign an IP
How do I access the application,Is it through web?
Thanks

Re: NAGIOs on Linux
The VM should be configured to use DHCP. If it doesn't have an address, your network adapter is probably not configured correctly in vmware player. Check the network adapter settings, specifically you'll probably want to enable bridged networking to bridge with your current network and obtain an IP.
